Politicians have a lot to say about what they believe the role of government to be. Those on the left often want more government at the federal level, especially more social programs. The claustrophobia and revolutionary timidity which have led some recently independent states whose internal economic and political conditions are favorable to revolution to accept compromises with the enemy or its agents; the growing contradictions between anti-imperialist states; and, finally, the threat to world peace posed by the prospect of atomic war on the part of imperialism. All these factors reinforce the action of imperialism against the national liberation movements. Asian “soft authoritarianism” merits attention for two reasons. First, it is emerging as the most prominent, articulate, and comprehensive critique of liberal democracy. Second, the countries that advocate it were, at least until the second half of 1997, among the most dynamic economies in the world. Singapore, Malaysia, China, Indonesia, and other Asian economies achieved annual growth rates of 10% or higher in the 1980s and most of 1990s. Their growing economic power has increased their influence in international affairs. Their recent economic turmoil is probably only a temporary setback, and the fact that it disrupted financial markets around the world testifies to the growing economic importance of these countries. Thanks for your comments. I do strongly agree that “Racist hate, particularly against Black Americans, has always been there and is still there.” The USA’s historic legacy of slavery remains in the particular oppression of the black population economically and socially. Any of several later political philosophies such as libertarian socialism, democratic socialism and social democracy which do not envisage the need for full state ownership of the means of production nor transition to full communism, and which are typically are based on principles of community decision making, social equality and the avoidance of economic and social exclusion, with economic policy should giving first preference to community goals over individual ones. Obama knows that empowering the poor and weak denizens of the United States of America, he understand and has a view and vision that this would empower and move America along the path of development and respect of Human rights without having to try and obfuscate all these, to the detriment of the nation and the progress within America. The poor, to Obama, are the people that are in the majority, 99% to be sure. Only the one percenters are having it good. He, Obama, seeks to change that in his second terms, and the poor can at least hang on to his promises for the next four years.
2.23 A series of developments linked generally to the need for greater crime control led to the modern form of public prosecutions, in which considerable emphasis is placed on the rights of the accused, and the victim is a witness not a prosecutor. Amicus Curiae – A friend of the court. One not a party to a case who volunteers, or is asked by the court, to offer information on a point of law or some other aspect of the case to assist the court in deciding a matter before it. The Union of South Africa formed in 1910 represented an alliance between English and Afrikaans speaking whites and the triumph of white domination over blacks. The legal system reflected that domination. In the past, the court system, the administration of estates, and all other parts of the system of justice were moulded around the needs of white people who made up 20% of the national population. The black majority, including coloureds and Indians, who made up 80% of the population, had marginal services that were segregated and of a low standard. Instead of being helped by the justice system, black people were most often the victims of it. In these times, the poor are not only the minorities: African Americans, Hispanics and Asiatics along with a potpourri of various ethnic groups who are either (American Red men and others). The lessons that have emerged from the 2012 Presidential campaign is that the Browning of America is now in full swing. The future of America now lies with the immigrants who were the attacked from all angles by the Romney team and their advisers. The political statement drawn up by the international preparatory committee of this conference, for which we reaffirm our complete support, placed imperialism, by clear and succinct analysis, in its economic context and historical co-ordinates. We will not repeat here what has already been said in the assembly. We will simply state that imperialism can be defined as a worldwide expression of the search for profits and the ever-increasing accumulation of surplus value by monopoly financial capital, centered in two parts of the world; first in Europe, and then in North America.
