“You Are Welcome Here!” – Minneapolis Adds ‘Welcome’ Signs to Four Layers of Fencing Around Courthouse for Officer Derek Chauvin-George Floyd’s Murder Trial

Minneapolis added signage to the four layers of fencing around its courthouse in preparations for this week’s hearing on the death of George Floyd.  The courthouse ‘welcomes’ visitors at the same time noting it is a ‘restricted’ area.

Starting a few weeks ago Minneapolis began adding fencing around its courthouse in preparation for this week’s trial involving police officer Derek Chauvin who is charged with second-degree murder and manslaughter in the death of George Floyd.

They Must Be Worried: Minneapolis Adds 4th Layer of Fencing Outside Courthouse – Spends Over $1 Million on Social Media Influencers Before Derek Chauvin Trial

Over the weekend signage was added to the fencing.  One sign (noted above) warns that the courthouse is a restricted area.  Another sign welcomes visitors (below):

This confusing signage is as confusing as the case itself.  According to CBS former policeman Derek Chauvin is accused of murdering Floyd:

Biden marks International Women's Day with orders to roll back some of Trump's gender-based damage

Monday is International Women’s Day, and President Joe Biden is taking the opportunity to start rolling back some of the related damage done by Donald Trump and his administration.

Biden is planning to sign an executive order establishing a White House Gender Policy Council, effectively replacing an Obama-era White House Council on Women and Girls that was eliminated by Trump. The changed name signals a substantive change to include transgender people, The Washington Post reports, quoting an unnamed official who said, “There will be a focus on women and girls, but the choice of the name of the council is really intentional.”

The council will consider the intersections of gender and race in a “whole of government approach” to gender equity, sexual harassment, gender-based violence, family caregiving, and structural barriers to women’s workforce participation, both in the U.S. and globally.

Another key move coming from Biden on International Women’s Day targets a key Betsy DeVos … Read the rest

Former DNI Ratcliffe: “What Happened on January 6th was Preventable and it was a Failure of Leadership in Our Law Enforcement” (VIDEO)

Former Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe joined Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures this morning.

During the interview, Bartiromo asked Ratcliffe about the intelligence failures prior to the January 6th protests on the US Capitol.

Former DNI John Ratcliffe: What happened on January 6th was terrible. We can all agree on that. But we also know it was preventable. There was intelligence. This was not an intelligence failure. There was a situational report out of the FBI, a field office not three hours from Washington DC that said the day before, not 24 hours before, that domestic extremists were intent on going to the Capitol, used the word “creating war,” targeting members of Congress even maps of the tunnel system of the Capitol. And what you heard the FBI Director testify this week, accurately, that he wasn’t made aware of it for some reason and, of course, I was

Democrats must abolish the filibuster now, or risk losing the country to permanent GOP domination

If this were a perfect country, the rejection of Donald Trump by a substantial majority of the American electorate would have resulted in a fundamental, across-the-board rebuke, where everything Trump ever said or stood for would stand repudiated, and the nation could simply move on.

But Trump left a parting gift to Americans, one more poisonous than anything he possibly could have accomplished while in office. He left the Republican Party, which carried water for him for four years, something its members had always wished for, but never quite achieved: a ready, tailor-made excuse they could point to in their relentless quest to suppress the vote. We are now clearly seeing why Republicans so eagerly embraced trump’s Big Lie of the supposedly “stolen” election: it made their work so much easier.

After Trump’s “election fraud” theme percolated its way through the consciousness of the Republican base, like clockwork, GOP-dominated state legislatures began introducing … Read the rest

“Finish What President Trump Started”-Texas Rep Introduces Bill To Finish Border Wall In Texas

Texas State Rep. Bryan Slayton (R) has introduced a bill to finish the border wall in Texas.

From The Texan.news:

Rep. Bryan Slaton (R-Canton) filed legislation on Thursday to direct the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to finish former President Trump’s border wall project using state funds.
The state representative contended that President Biden should not stop Texans from finishing what the last administration started.

“President Trump fought to bring real border

America may never reach 'herd immunity,' thanks to anti-vax Republicans

The actions of Republican governors—like Texas’ Greg Abbott or Mississippi’s Tate Reeves—who are outlawing mask mandates and insisting that businesses rush back to full capacity, are an obvious threat to public health and deft both medical advice and common sense. However, they may not be the worst thing that Republicans are doing to extend the pandemic in the United States and bring a fourth wave of disease and deaths.

In the last week, President Joe Biden moved up the clock on providing vaccines to America. When Biden came into office, not enough vaccines had been secured to provide for all American adults. Biden moved quickly to change that, and by the end of February, announced that vaccines would be available by the end of July. Then, after the Johnson & Johnson vaccine gained approval, Biden moved again, using the Defense Production Act to secure additional manufacturing from Merck and accelerate other … Read the rest

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp is Wanting to Run Again in 2022. With His Role in the 2020 Election, This May Not Be a Good Idea.

On November 23, 2020, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp certified the results of the 2020 election for Joe Biden.  In announcing this action the Governor shared the following:

Earlier today, Secretary Raffensperger presented the certified results of the 2020 general election to my office. Following Judge Grimberg’s ruling yesterday, state law now requires the Governor’s Office to formalize the certification, which paves the way for the Trump campaign to pursue other legal options and a separate recount if they choose. Georgia has runoff elections for two U.S. Senate seats and a Public Service Commissioner scheduled to occur over the next several weeks. We demand complete explanations for all the discrepancies identified so that our citizens will have complete confidence in our elections. In the runoff election, we cannot have lost memory cards or stacks of uncounted ballots. We must have full transparency in all monitoring and counting. Every legal vote

Johnson's delay tactics fizzle, and Senate gets down to business of passing COVID-19 relief

After a mammoth afternoon, evening, and night of Senate clerks being forced to read the entirety of the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan—10 hours and 43 minutes—Sen. Ron Johnson got bored with his delaying tactics meant to drag out the process. Philip Bump at the Washington Post did some calculations: “Given the current rate at which people are dying of covid-19, that means that about 880 Americans likely succumbed to the disease during” the reading of the bill forced by Johnson. Johnson didn’t stick around to the end.

He wasn’t there to object when Sen. Chris Van Hollen requested that they cut what was supposed to be 20 hours of debate following the reading of the bill down to three hours. No Republican—including Johnson—was on the floor to stop it, so the agreement was made and Sen. Tammy Baldwin gaveled the Senate out. So much for Johnson’s shift systemRead the rest

NOT MAKING HEADLINES: Antifa Members Caught with Gun at Jan 6th Protests, Arrested then Released — SOMEONE NOTIFY CROOKED CHRIS WRAY

Earlier this week FBI Chief Chris Wray lied to the US Senate and claimed there was no evidence Antifa members played a role during the January 6th US Capitol protests.

Wray Says No Evidence Antifa, Left-Wing Groups Played a Role in January 6 Capitol Riot (VIDEO)

Chris Wray also said there was no evidence of Antifa members dressed as Trump supporters at the January 6th protests.
This was another lie.

Seriously?… FBI Director Chris Wray Testifies There Is No Evidence of “Fake Trump Supporters” at US Capitol During Riot

The disparity between how federal prosecutors apply the law to Trump supporters and those associated with Antifa is anything but equal.

Below are two such cases that occurred in the same D.C. locale, on the same day and arrested for the same offense.
It appears government prosecutors have a propensity to drop the charges of those associated with leftist groups like … Read the rest

COVID-19 relief bill includes desperately needed help for child care centers

The child care industry and the workers in it—overwhelmingly women, many of them women of color—have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic. Really hard. But now there are two big reasons for hope, thanks to child care funding in the COVID-19 relief bill passed by the House and to a rush of states opening up vaccinations to child care workers.

After losing 400,000 jobs early in the pandemic, the industry hasn’t fully rebounded. In December 2020, there were still nearly 175,000 fewer child care jobs than there were in December 2019. In an industry that operates on extremely tight profit margins, enrollments remain down due to both reduced class sizes for social distancing purposes and parents keeping their kids home rather than risking group settings, while expenses for personal protective equipment and cleaning are up.

According to a December study from the National Association for the Education of Young Children, 56% of child care centers say … Read the rest
